Are these Programs for you?

This is an important page and I’ve taken a lot of time and thought to make this as comprehensive and user friendly for you as possible without a live conversation. One of the things you’ll learn in working with me is that leadership is not only about managing and leading your own energy and impact, but also about optimizing, supporting, and directing the energy of those you lead, and helping them do the same as well. This concept will be interwoven throughout our work together – and you’ll love it! (I promise! And so will the people in your life.)  That said, in doing this kind of work, it’s important that we engage your energy optimally as well – and the first step to doing that is awareness and making sure that you’re matched with the appropriate program!

Therefore, I’ve provided you with two ways to think about engaging with us. The first section speaks to some of our key offerings and how to know if they’re a good fit for you. The second section goes into the mindset and circumstance of each individual, to help identify if it’s a good fit, and to give you some insight into how serious I am about matching people with the right program – or not matching them at all, if it’s wrong (especially with private coaching.) This is all important in order for you to get the most out of your time, energetic and financial investments – and in order for all of us to enjoy working together. This is so important! It’s got to be fun, life enhancing, and positive energy. Otherwise no one’s going to want to play for long!

There are several “points of entry” for doing this work. In a nutshell, they are (provided in order of engagement intensity and personal attention, from lowest to highest):

  • Subscription to our free BootTalk Tips – released every couple of weeks - if you want to get to know me and just want light info and dabbling in this stuff. (Word to the wise, read and apply the tips and create great value in your life without even paying a dime.) Opt in right now on the right side of the page – it’ll take 5 seconds and it’s free.
  • Subscription to the Bootist Leadership Review – released monthly – if you’d like a more interactive way to engage with Bootism and the life and leadership principles I teach. These are great for people who don’t have a ton of time or resources to invest in doing this work but do want to up their game and create some real results.
  • Becoming a member of the "Boots in a Box" Power Pack Program (P2P) – an annual subscription (also available for purchase in bundles) – if you are serious about your own personal and leadership development, a self-starter, and want a great way to grow yourself – individually or with your team – in a cost effective manner. (Note to organizations: This program is also great for providing to large numbers of employees and can be facilitated in teams, and even using your own internal coaches.)
  • Bringing a Bootist Leadership Retreat or some DTE Training or Facilitation into your organization for your team or employees. You can design this so it’s private to your organization only, or you can be a "boots on the ground" sponsor and invite others (clients and peers) outside your organization to attend as well. This is a great option is you want to provide a shared experiential training experience for your team that will give you common language, skills and ways of leadership to work with. This is also a cost effective way to provide live training for a larger number of people.
  • Inviting me to speak at your next event, conference or team meeting – there are several core talks that can be delivered, and we can also create something more customized to your audience to address your unique needs. See speaking page and speaking of boots for more information.
  • Engaging in Private Coaching with me – this is the most personal and customized approach of all engagement opportunities. This is a good plan for you if you’re highly motivated, hungry to create change, willing to do the work, happy to make the investment, and delighted to dance with me. There are three different levels you can work at: Intensive, 90 Day Bootster, and BLStrategy. Due to the intensive nature of the top two programs, and the amount of commitment at this level on both parts, I only work privately with a small number of people each year. If you are serious about engaging in coaching, you’ll be asked to complete an application and participate in an interview to ensure it’s a good fit.

Mindset & Circumstance:

Ideal candidates for all of our programs will resonate with some (or sometimes all) of the following sentiments, they:

  • Want more
  • Hunger for a deeper sense of purpose and clarity on their path in life and leadership
  • Want to be better leaders in their lives and organizations (regardless of their current position or status*)
  • Are willing to spend the time and energy to make the shifts and achieve the goals they desire
  • Will be responsible for their results – if you want "it", come and get "it", or go get "it" – just get "it"!
  • Are willing to "get out of their own way," tell the truth, be real, succeed, fail and "recover’
  • Are willing to move out of blaming and complaining, and into ownership and productive action
  • Value their personal and family life and want to feel more "balanced" – in their own way
  • May have crazed/overloaded work schedules and workloads but want to create the results they seek and therefore are willing to take the time with us to do so
  • Are willing to consider their contributions to challenges in their relationships and organizations (no matter how difficult or far-fetched the concept may seem)
  • Are ready, and hungry, to move past excuses and get good stuff done: "Let’s go already!"
  • Are willing to invest the time, the money and the energy to make changes
  • Are serious about achieving their goals and will make this program and our work together a priority. Period.

* It doesn’t matter if you’re at the "top" or just getting started, our programs are designed to meet you where you’re at. If I don’t think a program is a good fit for your mindset or what you want to accomplish, I promise to be honest and let you know. This is in service of you, me, your investment, my energy, your organization (if applicable), and my team, as well as for other participants in the program (if it’s a group program.)

People who tend to do best with private coaching…

  • Are smart – they know they don’t need to do it alone and that they can get "there" faster with help.
  • Are determined – they want to create results and are anxious to get going.
  • Are open to taking risks, "failing", and learning from failures.
  • Are change agents who want to get something done and know they can get there faster and more effectively with a clear committed plan, great support, and accountability.
  • Sense (or know) that engaging with others, in different capacities; will help them create more successful results (without wiping themselves out) in service of the bigger picture.
  • Know that they always need to keep learning to be more effective, no matter their leadership status.
  • Are willing to be coached, trust the process, and learn together (yes, part of this is us being open to learning together)
  • Are ready to put coaching, action and our time together at the top of their priority list (you get what you put into it – no kidding)
  • Are hungry to create change in their lives, organizations, relationships, and impact
  • Are willing to get out of their own way
  • Want to be more effective and are highly committed to their success.
  • Are willing to do "their" personal work, take ownership
  • Want to get the most out of our work together, are ready to "lean in" with me, and look forward to having fun in the process!

It’s important to note that the way we’ve designed our offerings is so that there truly is something for everyone – IF they want to do the work and make things happen. If they’re not actively engaged, hold this as a low priority, or are prone (or committed even) to letting "life" and excuses "drive them" – they’re not a good fit. I’ve spent years, and lots of energy and heart, figuring out what will serve and what won’t, and this "mindset" we hold in designing programs and matching people with them – is key to all of our success!
