Philosophy

Why dare to engage?

The short answer: Because it will help you get where you want to go, create the rich relationships you want to create and achieve the results you hunger for.

We believe that:

  1. You have to be willing to step outside of your comfort zones to dare to engage to create the life and impact you want (at work AND at home.)
  2. You have to set yourself up for success by taking extremely great care of yourself and your relationships so that you have the energy, stamina and support to dare to engage over and over again.

We also believe that:

  • It's important to get in touch with yourself and get really clear on what you WANT
  • Stepping out of comfort zones and "daring" is essential to your success
  • Being intentional, clear and aware of your impact is essential to your success as a leader
  • Practicing extreme self care and "leading" your energy will help you BOOST your energy, stamina and impact, making work and life a lot easier.

I believe that it's often the "dare" energy that is missing for people and that this energy can be very powerful in helping people step up to the next level. Whether it be a challenging conversation, speaking from your heart, or taking a stand...or be it engaging a room full of people, a direct report, a spouse, a child, a promotion, a marathon, or your wildest dream...a dare, with some love and support, can add that little bit of spice that can compel you to move into it. The "gulp" energy of doing something a little scary or tantalizing or challenging - something you might shy away from at first because it seems too big or daunting, or intimidating or the famous "who am I to do that?" But once you've seen the value and the impact it can create, you don't dare not to. I believe it's the missing of these loving dares in our lives that helps us get comfortable and not get the results we really want (or need.)

I'm not talking about dangerous dares that put you or others at risk, no, I'm talking about the dares that challenge you to be bigger than you thought possible, that help you create stronger relationships, and that move you forward in your life and leadership. The dares that ask you to fully engage in your life, be fully present and create what you want.

I believe that when we fully engage, take care of ourselves, enrich our awareness, step out of comfort zones, and implement systems and structures to support us...We can achieve what we set out to achieve..We can be the hero's we want to be at work and at home.

I believe that the right kinds of challenging, support and resources combined with safe space to explore, learn and fail, create the kind of environment that invites people to dare to engage. And that is what these programs are about.

And why be a hero at work AND at home?

Because you can't separate the two. Both worlds impact each other, and finding ways to be a fully engaged leader in your professional world and then finding ways to be fully engaged in your personal world, can make you a hero. A hero who can excel and help others excel, a hero who practices extreme self-care so that she/he can continue to excel, and a hero who excels at home and succeeds in creating the impact he or she can be proud of for years to come.

Dare To Engage's Mission is simply to help people dare to engage so that they can be their most fully engaged, effective leaders and hero selves, at work and at home. We also love it when they have more fun and enjoy the process! The Dare to Engage Programs help individuals increase their awareness, courage, impact and stamina so that they can do exactly this.

Dare to Engage's Vision is to see people throughout communities and organizations committed to fully engaging both at work and at home, inspiring and compelling those around them to be fellow DareToEngagers, and their children to fully engage and be mini DareToEngagers! It is contagious.
