The Scoop on the Boot
What is Bootism™ and how in the heck did it get started? And what does leadership have to do with boots? Well it's a long story - but actually a pretty simple one that revolves around vision, energy, congruency, boots, hugs, cupcakes and lots of other things near and dear to my heart. Using it, I've witnessed the principles support and propel myself, and really amazing people and their businesses, into even better living, leadership, relationships, and results.
In a nutshell, it’s the integration of Eastern Holistic Philosophies - joy, energy, intuition, wellness, spirituality, peace, health, etc. - with Western Business work – a strong solid focus bottom line results, effective leadership team building, streamlined systems, long term strategy, developing and documenting clear organizational vision, etc. - blended with the things that are core to who I am, what I believe and what I’ve been working to live, teach and share in my twenty years of doing this work. (In case you’re wondering, the actual name was offered up by a friend who put together the fact that I blend Eastern & Western Philosophies in a somewhat strange but effective way in my work, and that I’m known for loving and wearing boots in almost every setting I’m in. More on that in the book.)
Cracking the nutshell, and enjoying what’s in it, Bootism helps you live and lead in a way that is true to you, helps you create positive energy, and sets you up for success to create the desired impact you need to have to lead well and to create the life you most want. And because Bootist Leadership® helps individuals and teams align with their most authentic, effective, and energized selves, they’re able to create stronger levels of trust with those they lead, stronger, clearer, and more effective resource states to make decisions from, and ultimately better results not only in their businesses, but in their personal lives and relationships as well.
With a STRONG emphasis on energy and presence (at all three levels – each one will surprise you), congruency (internal alignment – you HAVE to have this for trust and peace), relational intelligence, and "boots on" leadership, this work supports participants in creating a clearer path, an authentic vision, streamlined systems and action plans to make it so, and positive impact on their relationships, customers, and bottom line results. It’s all about energy, action, and people and Bootist Leadership gives you the mindset and tools to lead authentically, intentionally, effectively and with joy.
My dream for this work is that it touches as many people as possible in whatever way is most helpful to them, that they use it, share it and allow it to help them live their most congruent and joyful lives, to lead their businesses and missions to greater success, to engage with and create great impact on the people and things they care about, and ultimately to create positive energy and happiness in world. I truly believe that if we can come to our lives and organizations awake, congruent, leading, and responsible for our own energy, we can make really beautiful things happen in the world—at work, at home, and pretty much everywhere else we go. It may sound strange to some, but all I can say is that it really does work —everyone who works this system, and embraces it, has seen better results in every avenue of their life.

About the boot...
The boots you see in my materials today, are Rosemeade Boots. These are lovely, very meaningful to me, and happened to be designed by the late Laura Taylor Hughes, in the 1940's at Rosemeade, the studio she founded in North Dakota in the 1930's. Ms. Hughes, along with Eva Zeisel, and other Bootist creatives and business leaders (there are many!), have stayed true to themselves, designing and creating businesses and things that are/were congruent and meaningful for them (despite people saying they shouldn't or were crazy or wrong), bringing joy and happiness to others, and doing so with great love and care. These individuals and businesses have been a great source of inspiration and energy to me personally and in my unfolding of this work!
